Hello everyone, I have viewed & enjoyed the site for a while now, keep up the good work .My wife & I visited the factory 10 days ago to see our car in build & looking at the shots by Numog they could have been the one's I took.
I have a couple of questions which I am sure you will be able to tell are from a not very experienced Morganeer.Recently Frank 4X4 on receiving his new car mentioned "top & bottom spring gaiters & cat heat shields to be fitted" Are these upgrades required ? If so could any one enlighten me a little more. Thanks.

Exterior colour, leather colour, options?

I would say these are optional and one of the best things about owning a Morgan, especially a Traditional (or as the factory now calls them: Classic) Morgan, is that you can fettle them and modify them to whatever level you want. Some of the changes will be to suit the way the owner wants to use the car (handling, all weather protection, track days mods, etc) and some will be purely cosmetic: badge bars, aero screens, etc (or cosmetic/functional - for instance: luggage racks, spotlights and bonnet straps).

I'm sure Frank will be a long to explain the reason for his mods and others, such as '1560' will be happy to detail the reasons for theirs (in 1560s case, he is chasing and using more performance - better brakes, tighter handling and more power - predominantly for track use).

Thanks for the reply.The colour is Ferrari Le Mans blue,with Yarwood Kensington Tusk upholstery.A few of the usual extra's- wire wheels,mohair hood, sports seats,walnut dash & Moto-Lita wheel etc.

A Simon said, we just love to tinker. More difficult to do with a new car. Just read some of the other posts, such as Dave W et al and the latent 'techno juices' start to flow.

Dave started the Gaiter flow and I have added some more. You will notice the springs on the front sliding suspension are exposed so when I heard of a local car having new king pins after 20k miles I inquired about the 'Gaiter History'. Being handy with a sewing machine I am running the prototypes in the photo from the Roadsters delivery. So far they have stayed nicely in place.





The Cat Heat shield was made and fitted to my 4/4 after the Wing Liner detached. This was attributed partly to poor adhesive choice (Rectified on new cars) and the heat from the Catalytic Converter (for 4 cylinders) under the offside wing (see photo).

The Roadster has two Cats in a similar location for 3 cylinders each. I will not fit the heat shields unless there is any hint of liner detachment.
