So chaps, whilst hooning in Scotland on entering left hand bends the car felt slightly "loose", like the front wanted to tuck in the the rear spin. Now I know it was wet and I suspect this was quite a bit to do with it, but there was a lack of feel, a vagueness when turning in, but not felt in right handed bends?
So I suspect this is pressure related and tyres in general as they are not shall we say at their best.
Hand book says 22 all round, is this cold/hot and what would be most people's recommendations for a more spirited driver?
What tyres are we recommending these days?

What's the date code of the tyres? Tread depth is not the only factor...I can hear Rob Heap laughing when I gave him stick about changing tyres that had masses of tread left but the truth is when they are past their best they have a dramatic effect on handling. Google tyre date codes if your unsure how to check, it's very simple really.

S1 ? Check your nuts. Literally. Is the wheel nut tight.
I run slightly higher 23-24 if I am pushing on bit. Had some Vredestiens on for 4 years and they had degraded. Put on new Mich Pilot Super Sports, WOW.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Check the sell buy date on the tyre if older than 5 years throw them away is what I would do.
I run on 24psi.

I'll try 24 when cold.
Nuts tight, I did have one coming loose while away but this shows up as a very different noise. Constantly checked them throughout.
It was more pronounced when wetter so I assume it is a combination of older and worn tyres in overpowering conditions, but it was unsettling robbing of confidence that was there in spades in the dry.
Michelin PSS were on the list.

24psi. Nuts are tighten up to a couple of grunts and a big heave. It was the old story of getting the grub screw aligned......after it's service one wheel was not 100% and while I checked they were tight before setting off, I did this cold and as a result when hot one started to come loose. We had done the A93 and some 90 miles of pretty hard driving that morning, let alone the 350 miles of motorway thrash to get there.

If not stated, tyre pressures are always cold. Preferably first thing, before driving...

Hi Gents,
Freaking out slightly with the chat about wheels coming loose. Dave (lightsphere) has explained to me about aligning of great grubscrew etc.
Where do I buy the right wheel wrench from?

Ian Norbar 4R Industrial Torque Wrench 3/4in Drive 150-700Nm from mytoolshed.co.uk and hex spinner socket from Lionel wheelwidget@hotmail.co.uk £40 (excellent) And a 3/4 drive 38mm hex socket about £12 on Amazon. When I took my wheels off I paint the slot bright yellow so it is easy to see when lined up before putting grub screw n. Hope this helps
