I agree, Reg.

Clearly Wildmoore Hawke started out with a kit car business & knowing that the Morgan car was a very recognisable iconic shape, aimed at a pastiche with very similar lines. It could never be a copy, for legal reasons, but aimed I would imagine, at providing people with an opportunity to build their own version of one.

Kit car manufacture has been with us since the '50s Austin Seven based specials, when owning a genuine article like nowadays, could be prohibitively expensive to youngsters wanting to tinker and thrash.

This one is just further along the line. There have been many Morgan look-a-like's over this period, none of which have hit the mark or there'd be a lot more around with legal cases, but look at how many have gone on to financial success. The Cobra replica market for example, and many of the Jaguar/Bugatti replica's too.

Whether WE as owners of the genuine thing like it or not is immaterial, the garage is putting the price on not the manufacturer. The kit car world has produced some howlers over the years, but there are many that have gone on to better things as a result of trying their hand.

Don't forget that the likes of Tony Divey with his Triking, John Ziemba with his JZR and several others have kept the interest in three wheelers so high at a time when Morgan dismissed the idea of making one. And when they DID, it was arguable whether those guys made a better job at it than the genuine manufacturer..!!

So yes, it may be ugly in most people's eyes but behind it is a story and some may feel that story is part of our motoring heritage and deserves to be kept alive.

As Reg says, each to their own..

Actually my mother died when I was young so if you don't mind I would prefer you to not bring her name into this conversation. However, had she still been alive she would have told you exactly what she thought of using foul language in 'public' and you would have beenlikey to have a good clout around the ears. I along with probably several other people on here agree with that sentiment.

That is totally uncalled for thank you - that word is one of the very few that we all take exception to swear

Please desist...

It may be used slightly differently where you are but not here thank you.

For your information I did not have a Mother either from the age of 1.5 years of age.

p.s. Steve T is being very polite.
