Short Video of my M3W knocking

Can I get some opinions here? This sounds like my compensator failing again, but I had a CENTA installed 1000 miles ago (at much expense). If it was coming from the motor I would say it sounds like a rod knocking, but the sound is emanating from the transmission area. I can make it happen by slightly disengaging the clutch at low RPM. Example - I especially notice it as I pull into the garage or into a parking place. As you can tell from the video the sound is more pronounced inside the cabin. I can feel it in the floorpan. I've been assured that the CENTA was a fix to the compensator problem...

Oil levels are fine, and it was serviced when the CENTA unit was installed (along with the frame modification) 1000 miles ago.

I've emailed this to my dealer. I'm sure he will get back to me soon, but I thought I would post it here and get a few opinions from owners. Thanks in advance.

Have a look at this.
This may be the cause of your noise. Does it sound like the belt is jumping when being driven?

No, but I did have the belt mysteriously loosen on me and I had to adjust. Ever sense I've gotten belt noise when coming off power, but I assume that the belt is a little dirty, or I've not adjusted it perfectly.

I've never seen the issue you linked to. Is that broken mount common?

First report this week.
It could also be a loose bolt on the prop shaft.

It does not sound like the noise a compensator makes.

S B Have you checked the upper and lower inner A frame mounts. There have been some reports of breakage here. Morgan has actually created a frame reinforcement bracket to put in place here. I have a 2012 and installed the bracket. Some of the guys who have had breakage in this area talk about a sound that it makes. Good Luck

Shame he vid is so short , but sounds to me louder and more distinct outside the car. With the bonnet off and rear tray out can you pinpoint the are of the car that is making the noise ?

I've been on the phone with my dealer mechanic. He's going to check w/ MMC. I'm confident he will figure it out. I'm just not looking forward to the drive to the dealer if it isn't something I can fix. wink
