Hi guys,

Do you see the same when driving at night?

I wasn't beating the hell out of her...just cruising around at 2500rpm...

You probably have the stock exhaust pipes. They are very restricting and leads to heat buildup causing glowing pipes. Many have comment about their pipes glowing. One of the best upgrades you can provide to your M3W is to upgrade your exhaust pipes.

does removing the cats do enough to cure this? or taking a hole-saw to the first baffle?

There's no need to "cure" this. To the OP, the S&S does not like 2,500 RPM much at all...too low. That's not related to the headers glowing though.

So Ken you are pretty happy with your stock pipes?

Draggin, take a hole-saw to ALL the baffles. I had the same problem with glowing headers. With all the baffles removed no more red. More noise though. My Bother says, "In their face", You get used to it though and I think less back pressure makes Mr. S&S much happier.

I just moved the car into the garage and the pipes were already glowing after less than 30 seconds...I dont think it is a good thing for the engine.

Will look into removing the baffles then.
Hbatts, how much more noise do you have now?
