I think this is my favourite 80th 4/4

The 80th 4/4 is a very nice car .Im not a green person as many Mog owners are but this does look spot on .

Looks better without!
Does a F1 car carry a spare tyre?
Mogs are sports cars!
wink

I'm not speaking about whether it needs a spare, but what it looks like. Traditional sports cars carry a spare, and sometimes two. It's the same with bonnet straps. They are not functionally necessary, but many people fit them.

Definitely not style over substance as it's basically a 4/4 all of which have plenty of substance.

There is or was (might be sold by now) a two tone green 80th in Lifes Motors, with dark red interior and leather which I thought looked fantastic

I did post a rather poor photo of it on here a couple of weeks ago

It also had the green painted wheels although I think it would have looked better with the wheels in the lighter green of the bonnet to continue the two tone look between the wings and the wheel

The silver wheels on this are nice but definately looks better in my opinion in the body colour as the silver just looks like an alloy wheel ( which it is of course but not very vintage)

Having seen the bonnets raise at high speed on my previous Morgan, I would say the straps are functional - I happen to like them, I also think I need them.

Early on with mine I had the wood screens that secure the hinge to the bulkhead "lift out" at speed. I could see a little movement but the belt meant nothing more than that.
