The washers/spacers helped a little in the 2-5 range 1st is still a bit of a pig - I wonder if the passivated housed bush to the rear needs spacing a little, the assembly rotates okay but it moves back and for by about 1/2" that may be a requirement but I may have another fiddle later in the week.

It would be interesting to see what alternative gearbox options there are and how easy it would be to change. Before I swapped Aldermog for Tarka I had a long discussion with Tim Ayres at New Elms about taking out the Ford V6 engine and gearbox and fitting the Ford based V6 from an S Type jag, complete with /auto box. As the S types rust there are plenty of MOT failures. The result would be in effect an S1 Roadster Auto....but we got to about £10K as an estimate and about 4 months. Then Tarka appeared and the rest is history.

I am going for a T5 as previously mentioned eventually a nice box that can more than handle the V6 3.0 I have.
No interest in yet another Auto - the Mog is Raw and compromised and that is the way I like it!
Had a really nice run along some of my alternate routes from my old Wallop commute today, I did get a little wet, and the A303 is still a nightmare even on a Sunday.

Today's run back and forth to work, I think the plastic spacers actually have helped a bit, I'd have to remove the tunnel to see if there is any slop in the front of the extender.
