BTW, I think with the strap tight now, there's little chance of significant damage.
Had the scratches been lighter (smaller), I think I might have removed the strap and put it in storage for a future owner or change of mind.
I understand the attraction of the strap, but would not have chosen one for a car I ordered.

But is the paint a color base with a clear top coat? A single stage, water-based paint? Anyone have a clear idea of what the paint is so something compatible can be chosen? He said it isn't paint.

Sorry to be confusing. Yes, the radiator cowl is stainless, but I'm referring to the body color -- which, last I checked, is paint.

Hi James. Last year i bought a kit for my 3W on Chipex on line site. Chipex is the official paint used by Morgan motor company. You can choose your color and the dimension of the kit and then pay for it using your credit card. I had a pair of stone chips and my paint is ok after i used the kit. I can thoroughly recommend Chipex having used them recently. Provided you give them the correct paint code, your paint will be an exact match.

+1 on Autosol, wonderful stuff and it's cutting power is deceptive considering its creamy consistency. Work wonders on Moto Litas and alloy fuel caps too.

I used Chipex a while ago, gave them the paint code that MMC advised was the correct one for my car but it turned out to be miles off.
Rang Chipex who were wonderful, said they couldn't help but gave me a full refund no quibble.
Still I would have preferred the right shade of blue rather than the refund.

My dealer scrounged some paint for me when at factory. Its a 2 pack, mix 2 parts paint 1 part hardener. I've not used it yet.
I have some bubbling/corrosion under the paint where the rear indicator pod mount passes through the panel. How best to tackle this?

With caution, I believe 2 pack paint gives off a poisonous gas when mixed and breathing apparatus is required. Obviously the rest can be accomplished by stripping down, rubbing back to metal, anti corrosion treatment, careful prep with undercoat and several rub downs with lessening grade wet and dry till a perfect finish ready for the top coat.
