Captains log, day 49, Caramulo!! We have landed! Long and hot drive mostly on motorway, but we are here!
It's 36 degrees so shorts on today, for two reasons, the heat and also it was a cunning plan to prevent us being hassled by too many women. Seems to have worked, but also it reminded me I need to get some frozen chicken legs from Iceland when I get back.
Ian has taken to wearing a wide brimmed hat which I think gives him the air of a country vicar,perhaps one that keeps bees and writes crime novels in his spare time.
Talking of headwear, I'm having to adjust my hat band every day which either means its stretching or my head is slowly shrinking with the heat. I hope it's not the latter or by the time we get to Santander it will have disappeared completely.
Anyway, stunning views at the hotel and the cold beer is most welcome. Time to don our race outfits for some posing... More to follow !
What Steve forgot to add was that we finished today with around 15k of teeth rattling country lane in the middle of nowhere! Not sure if we'll find the Mogs tomorrow on collapsed springs😰
