Can't help with the 80A fuse, though something rated that high has got to be some sort of master fuse, surely? Nothing as sophisticated on my '85 car...
[on edit: DW got there before me, while I was playing with the pretty colours...]
Whilst checking out a new creak in my rear this morning (slightly loose U bolts on one side) I had a quick peep. The Maxi blade 80 amp fuse appears to be protecting everything apart from the starter.
A pic should anybody be interested in where it lives.
Gordon I blame you for making my "to do list” even longer today
The flying fuse holder appears to be a panel mount holder. It occurred to me that it would make a super immobiliser device if it was mounted on a bracket on the back of the heel board with the fuse just poking through, and maybe a simple cover. An easy alternative to a power cut of switch that I had been pondering on. Just lift the carpet and whip out the fuse to kill the power
