That's fine if you can guarantee that the material doesn't change from OEM specification. A change of washer from copper to nylon or rubber O ring or vica versa completely buggers up any published torque values.
I had all the safety wire twisting I wanted on my Piper Cub, from the wood propeller nuts to the oil pan plug. Glad I don't have to deal with that on the M3W. A good one handed nip is fine for me.
Wooden propeller nuts: I'm not surprised that you wired them on but was that enough? Does Piper share a similarity with Morgan and run its own woodshop?
No seriously, I can understand the frustration of spending your life lock/safety wiring everything in sight.
On my car, it's reserved for the engine sump plug and front and rear brake calipers only. They're all out of sight so there's nothing for anyone to leer at!
