In case you are not all bored silly by Arctic adventures, I attach a link to a video produced last year on a trial voyage to Svalbard.

I'm hoping to get a bit of a view of the west coast fjords and glaciers, but once we leave the aptly named Cape Farewell on the southern tip of Greenland it'll be flat out for home trying to avoid the worst gales.

Arrived in Nuuk last night after flying via Gatwick and Copenhagen plus a couple of stops in Greenland. Dinner last night to see off the old crew, and we are today doing a detailed handover briefing, before refuelling and leaving tomorrow.
Stunning scenery already, cold and clear, with lumps of ice drifting across the bay. wine

Will do, Calum.
Fully briefed on the boat today, fuelled up, a few more checks to do on the mast tomorrow and a repair on a guardrail, and leave Nuuk at noon.
Cold and sunny, and icebergs drifting down the bay. I hope to be able to report on the experience when I get back.

I hope you guys have been able to follow the blog and track so far. Now in Qaqortoq (Julianehavn) after a spectacular trip from Nuuk with northern lights, a breaching whale, stunning scenery, and a great bunch on the boat, none of whom I knew before last week.
Now planning how to avoid some bad weather early next week - probably hole up at a weather station just inside the southeast tip of Greenland, and time it right for a dash to Southern Ireland.
More when I get on wifi again.
