Actually one has to have a mechanical watch as the digital time is on the mobile phone.
All one needs is a little bit of good taste and lots of money...

How about one of the Vostok Russian watches that are sold on ebay and elsewhere.

I own a Rolex and It functions ok but Alis's 30 year old Submariner is a piece of rubbish. It has even been back to Rolex and still does not run properly. I bought her a unused but 15 year old gold Omega Speedmaster which looses about half a minute a day (probably needs adjusting after not running for years) but it never misses a beat. Frankly I don't see the value in Rolex watches. I think Omega make a better watch that, unless you go for the top of the line, costs less than a Rolex. Just found this virtually unused one which looks very good http://www.sorelleronco.it/Occasioni/sch...sary/wcr723.php

I have a couple of 60's Breitlings that i try and avoid wearing if i'm working on the cars etc.. have several old but usable others that include some Omega Speedsters, rugged as anything plus some old Seiko divers from the 70's.. oh and a Russian Vostok too..old one that can't be broken no matter what i do and cheap as chips!

How about a Heuer (pre Tag-Heuer) Carrera from early 70's Mechanical - but not self winding. Only issue might be lack of strong luminosity.

I had a good look today at Tag Heuers new watch range I have to say I didn't like any but I agree a vintage one would be nice but I don't get the luminosity Just had a look at the Tudor watch website and they have released a Black Bay 36 which looks perfect as it doesn't have the submariner type bezel but it has a vintage look It's a strong contender - I bet it's going to be around £1000 retail
