Have to say the Rolex Submariner no date is my favourite, had mine for 8 years now. I don't see it as a status symbol it's just a simple, reliable, good looking (In my opinion) watch that tells the time and nothing else. Bit like a Morgan in that many people don't get it and the depreciation is similar. Current new retail price is 70% more than it cost me and second hand it would still fetch 50% more. Not a reason to buy one but reassuring all the same.
bought what is now a fairly rare and expensive Rolex Submariner Date when she was about 23. She bought it simply because it was a diving watch and she was a scuba diver (and worked as a photographic model for one of the scuba magazines). It has been refurbished several times including, supposedly, by the factory last time. She loves it to bits and often wears it but it never tells the correct time and constantly stops. The 26 year old Omega Speedmaster that I bought (in as new state) her for her birthday a few years back has never failed and keeps pretty good time. It has just been back to the factory for its first service and the replacement of a button that was somehow lost. It came back looking like new together with a bag of all the old seals and tiny little bits replaced.
I like the idea of a C Ward watch as it has links to Morgan and vintage cars and flying etc. Just need to keep mentioning it to swmbo occasionally to get it on her possible present list , that and a leather jacket !

Breitling Chronospace bought 30 years ago my daily wear. Omega Seamaster 2010 winter Olympic edition. Cartier Tank. Seiko Sports Chrono for working on the car.
When I'm in the Morgan I don't care what time it is. If the sun is going down I'll head for home or get a room. No worries. If I really have to know I'll look at my cell phone.

Not whilst driving your Morgan I presume , you can get a clock fitted and Cain does a very nice line in them !
