I'd have to do it Tim's way Paul. That was the plan last year. For reasons I'm not prepared to air (for the moment) I took on other projects and remained - we needed some financial stability for a while longer... Hope it all works out as you need it to.

Repeat after me. I must not look at watch/Morgan websites. I must not look at watch/Morgan websites. I must not look at watch/Morgan websites. I must not look at watch/Morgan websites. ....... Having said that, I'm oftern looking at the Chrispher Ward site, as I already have three of theirs.

When I started collecting watches in 2004, I was quite anti Rolex because of the yuppie status symbol element and so collected just about everything but, mainly Omegas and Zeniths but did buy a Rolex in 2006 when I was presented with a deal I couldn't refuse I bought and sold quite a few then slowly sold off the small collection I had and kept a Zenith Elite and a Rolex Explorer 2 which I have just traded for a brand new Rolex Sub, no date, stainless steel. So for the first time in 11 years, I am down to one main watch which I like and will probably keep There is still a bit of a stigma to Rolex watches and some of the bling type models I think are horrible but I do feel that compared to some of the other manufacturers, they still make a very good watch and I do like the fact that they limit availability and haven't messed too much with the overall design of the basic sports type models I agree the classic Omega Speedys are superb but Omega have seen fit to release way too many designs and crossover models in my opinion over the last few years - it's hard to identify a Seamaster from a Speedmaster and I just think it has watered down their provenance If anyone is interested in Rolex -here is an interesting comprehensive article that gives an insight into the brand https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/inside-rolex

I know what you mean Stewart, I much prefer the older Omega's and the same happened to Breitling. I have two Navitimers, one from 1967 and the larger dialled one from 1968, I'm not sure I would want a modern blingy one. I have a few watches, maybe 10 in total, but end up using two or three favourites. So need to thin out some maybe..

Some 12 years ago I bought an auto wind watch from a Telegraph offer for £45. It has never stopped, gained or lost a minute. I think it is Russian, Tissot or some such. What a bargin.

I have a Harwood watch in my collection, which is moderately rare... I don't wear it often. Harwood is an interesting story. http://www.harwood-watches.com/en/history/index.html
