I think the styling of the faces and numerals was not to the taste of die hard omega fans. A couple of years ago they were £600-£800 but as with most watches the prices are now well and truly on the up.

Grrh! How is it that you can copy the url of a site into the correct field and the person who click on the link gets "site unavailable" etc. It takes all the fun out of leg pulling when it doesnt work

Because you didn't remove the leading http:// from the url link...
Try the wrist sundial

Try

While a watch may cost sometimes more than a decent car: what fun in action does a watch actually provide besides of owning one? On the other hand: you hardly can bring your your Moggy into a restaurant.

Maybe one has to see it different: Owning a traditional built car and an overpriced hand assembled watch proves: live is not treating me that bad.

If we were entirely logical, then for most of us any watch is unnecessary because we carry a mobile phone and because clocks accurately telling the time are all round us. For the most part then , wrist watched are pieces of jewelry as the CEO ( how ever did this nasty Americanism become standard?) of Rolex once said they were. And I guess that the mechanical watch with its approximate idea of time appeals to those brought up on solid mechanical engineering rather than the computer generation.

But we are inconsistent. The same lovers of mechanical watches have long since given up on slide rules and mechanical calculators in favour of electronics.

For myself I am on my second Seiko Divers watch, the first having been nicked from the showers in Jersey marina. Apart from complete reliability, timekeeping accurate to a second a week, being self powered and waterproof, I can vouch that you can run over it with your motorbike and it will come out unscathed! And the final benefit? Despite what I said above, its fastened to my wrist which means that I cant leave home without it. More than can be said for my phone, hanky or wallet.

I agree....functional, accurate, understated and a good price.......less than the price of my recent Omega service!

I agree

It's a nice looking watch - I like the way they have subtlety emphasised the two central chrono dials to give it a bit of symmetry

The Rhonda quartz movement is certainly decent and doesn't have plastic gears costing 10p like most quartz movements so it is repairable and long lasting

The manufacture tolerance of the movement from the Rhonda factory is -10 / +20 seconds a month which is very good

I like the fact it's got split and add timings function as well to the chrono which will be useful if you are timing your wife driving the +8 round the race track

It's a good motorsport themed classic looking chrono

Thought I'd better have a closer look after that description. It is rather attractive. Typical that I find the more expensive version to be favourite...

I've just looked again to the technical specs as I couldn't find reference at first to the crystal or the water resistance and I've just seen it's got a sapphire crystal and 100M water resistance with a screw in crown

Also Rhonda do a Swiss made movement and a Swiss parts but made in Asia movement - this uses the Swiss made movement so it seems to tick (pun intended) every quality box

Howard - I bought a seiko divers watch for my PADI course in 1988 - been used as my daily watch ever since and still going strong! its a bit battered now but its got a nice patina.
