Spoke to the owner on a stand at Windsor Concours- he was most disparaging about Morgan! Said that the Atalanta was nothing like a Morgan.
I agreed. Very few Morgan's cost £150,000.

I am guessing that someone has bought the rights to the name rather than it still being the "original" owners, not really the same in my book.
Its what makes Morgan so special, uninterrupted and original.
Makes me ponder how I feel about the new "TVR", as its not really TVR.. is it?

I think from what I've read, the name and car brand has been resurrected by an enthusiast who owned one of the pre-war originals
He might be disparaging of Morgan through competitive envy which I will ignore but well done to at least having the capacity to create an authentic looking 1930's coach built open sports car which is so obviously similar to a Morgan as their overall aesthetic and build method came from the same era
If someone had JUST £150K to spend on one coach built car of this type and style, I can't see them choosing this over a Morgan for lots of reasons.
One of the reasons being you can have more fun with less than a third of the money or the same aesthetic with a big V8 for just over half the money
That's without going into the provenance, dealer network and the social aspects of Morgan ownership

I love the overall look of the car and have always wanted a car with suicide doors. However, as we all know 'from £150k' seldom means it will end up costing £150k. Is the 2.5l motor the same one to be found in the revised MGB?

There was a mass weeping & wailing of the great unwashed when that one surfaced.

Well, he would say that wouldn't he? The Morgan is his main competition, and looks like a bit of a bargain, even at £60k

Nice looking car but £150k is serious money.

I would have thought that what matters with a new car is how much it costs, how it goes, maybe even what it looks like but as for heritage - as Henry Ford said " history is bunk". And he's been just a bit successful hasnt he?
