Shock on Sunday, when operating the windscreen washers on my Plus 4....the fluid poured out from under the dash all over my leg.....you sort of expect the fluid to be on the outside of the car....

Not a good look !
I used to get this on my 2009 Sport from new when they used liquorice pipes (maybe they still do) instead of silicon tubing for the washers.
The real worry is that it can spray all over the main instrument PCB and destroy things at considerable expense so it's best to address the issue sooner rather than later.
An easy job with the dash dropped replacing with silicon (think fish tanks) but annoying as they should use something decent at the factory.
Interestingly neither my 1994 or 1999 +8's have done this as it's proper pipes fitted.

I had the same problem when my Roadster was new.
No explanation - but not unknown to MMC and fixed under warrantee.
Good Luck
