Today I started up my 2015 Plus 4 GDI and left the engine running while I did a bit of polishing. Almost immediately I noticed quite alot of strong exhaust fumes coming from the front of the car above the tyre on the driver’s side. It seemed to be seeping out of the short exhaust pipe which connects the two boxy items which are wrapped in aluminium foil, one of which is attached to the engine (sorry for my ignorance in these matters). Thinking it must be just a bit of "burning off" I took it out for a run and on my return it was still seeping when idling but not to the same extent.
Is this normal as I haven't noticed it before and the fumes were quite overpowering. Finally as the car is still under warranty would this be a warranty issue if it needs fettling?
Thanks

No an exhaust shouldn't leak where you describe - i'm sure the warranty will cover this presuming its still factory standard and not "modified". Likely an exhaust gasket has failed i guess, shouldn't prove a huge issue.
let us know how you get on....
