Fascinating, that is great news I hadn't heard about it at all, too focused on the Canberra return to the air probably.

The Ozzie capital is taking to the air???

Hehe, actually with the amount of hot air expended, I'm surprised it hasn't floated away already! laugh2

When you consider the range of cars available in 1942 it puts aviation of that period into perspective.

Great photo's!
I've been lucky enough to see the Battle of Britain Flight team at various air shows and the Vulcan bomber.
But one of my personal favourites was the English Electric Lightenig? I remember the stunt called Moonshot where the aircraft would climb vertically with both after burners on, what a sound!!!!!
To get one of those flying would be amazing. The next be thing is some of the scale models at various model club displays, take a look at the link. English Electric Lightening

Thanks, care of BBMF - like you I have seen the Battle of Britain flight several times and the Vulcan. Sometimes at Red Bull Air Race Ascot, Duxford or Goodwood Revival we are privileged to see these things.

That model Lightning is quite something.

My stand out display was watching the Vulcan and Lancaster in circuit 2 years ago at the Goodwood Revival a really unique experience.

I met a very nice chap at the NEC who produces a model aircraft magazine and he had some interesting stories to tell about the detail and the cost involved in some of those Jets.
