After 45 years of waiting and playing with other cars I acquired my Plus 4 T16 in September and have been loving every minute of driving it. The only problem is I would now like a Roadster, so how do I persuade my long suffering wife that it is a wise move?
So far she enjoys the Mog as well so starting from a positive position an improvement from my Rochdale Olympic which she hated with a passion!

Well I went straight into Plus 8 ownership 12 years ago and my good lady is not a fan but loves the fact that I do enjoy them. It cost me a completely new oil fired Grant boiler and radiators we were Electicaire prior to that. New bathroom upstairs. New shower room downstairs etc. I have to add that I just returned home from a business trip and dropped on her the fact that I had just bought a Plus 8 for £25k, it went quiet for quite a while & then I let her know I was picking it up next weekend. So probably the best advise I can give you is to pray. I think she came out ahead on it all financially but hey it's only money and it keeps people in a job  I haven't stopped smiling when I'm driving it yet - this is my 3rd one - be warned... In answer to your question start bartering...

Did all that work to the house and then sold it, suppose I am in for a refit of the new house, when we get one. As you say it is only money and so far the Mog has been on the road for far longer than the Rochdale without needing work!

They are reliable when maintained properly, in over 64,000mls in the three cars neither have let me down.
Good luck with choosing the Roadster.

You have caught the Mog bug and its quite difficult to shake off , antibiotics are not prescribed for this disease as they don't work !

Breakfast in bed helped me but have had to do this every day since buying a mog 4 years ago! But it's worth it!

R. You should get back what you paid on the +4, so the difference is all you have to justify. By demonstrating the +4 hasn't cost anything other than running consumables it should be relatively easy to justify a Roadster on the basis that it will not depreciate, either. But by the same logic a +8 should not be ignored....
