yes would like 2 or 3 eared spinners but it seems I'd need revised hubs? Was wondering if there was a cosmetic/dummy 2/3 eared centre cap - if that makes sense...

To switch to proper centre-lock wheels you'd be looking at new hubs and wheels all round - a very expensive proposition.
Having dummy spinners might look a bit strange since you'd still have the existing wheel nuts as well. To be honest the Plus 8 looks great with the standard wheels, especially when painted like yours. I think you'd be much better off sticking with the normal centre caps.

possibly so, certainly not going down the road of new wheels and hubs etc. Maybe I have to live with it. Maybe a dark metal paint with chrome caps be a good compromise.
