On a visit to daughter and son-in-law I was given the really tough (twist my arm) task of ferrying this WW2 vet from their workshop to its owner following a session of maintenance. MT108 rolled out of the Rearsby workshops as a MkIV in time to be part of the D Day landings and then served through most of the rest of the war. It came to Australia in the 50's and has had a civilian life since. Lovely to fly and a big privilege to to deliver it to a very happy owner. Spitfires and Lancs are wonderful but the humble Auster did its bit too.
Yes Hannes I try. No Morgans - at least I have not seen one and I have been driving quite a bit - but the flying has been good. The little wooden wonder, the Jodel, has also been flying. I'm hoping you will have some good weather waiting for when I get back to Vienna on Thursday. Cheers.

Hi Paul and yes the buildings on Gadsby lane are those of the original factory although with modern cladding. The planes were flown from the farmers field behind. In 2013 the Auster club arranged with the farmer/owner to hold a fly-in there and I was lucky enough to be there and fly from the field. I'm pretty sure there will be another event before too long. There's a pic here of the plaque on the wall beside the gate and some of the planes of the 2013 fly-in. I'll post something if there's another planned.
