Chaps,
I know that many of you have a very eclectic collection of records/CD's (Stewart springs to mind) well after more than 50 years of playing the Stones have just released their first CD in over a decade and boy is it brilliant.
I have followed the Stones from the early '60's, after all I was born and lived not 10 miles from Dartford and used the same station that Mick and Keith met on but I have been hoping for them to get together to produce a blues CD for the last 20 years and that's just what they have done.
It could have been recorded back in the '60's at the Chess studio in Chicago as it is IMHO that good. Micks voice now has a slight harshness to it that really makes the songs come alive.
For anyone who loves the blues try to give this a listen, the Stones have finally made the journey from pop stars via stadium fillers (the best rock & roll band in the world) back to their roots at the Crawdaddy Club as a blues band.
I still find it strange that the flat they lived in off The Kings Road doesn't have a Blue Plaque as the one that Hendrix lived in off Bond Street does ( strangely next door to the building that Handle lived in) but perhaps that's another story.
In the words of Buddy Guy, "Give me champagne when I'm thirsty and a reefer when I want to get high"
Happy listening blues fans. wine

What is the title of the cd? Just asking because I'd like to buy it. Been a Stones fan for 40 years.

I'm still ploughing my way through the Dylan 36 CD set at the moment before listening to it. Is Don Was's production OK? That was my only reservation about it.

I've only heard it played through my Yamaha modelling amp emulating a Fender Tweed, and it sounds to me like it was recorded in the smoky basement of a Chicago juke joint, which I hope was what they were trying to achieve?

I'll have a listen through some studio monitors tomorrow.

Good to jam along to as well, nice straightforward 12-bar stuff, nearly all in Am or Dm.
