I Love This Photo

I love the photo, but struggle to believe that the last BA flight was October 2003!
Time flies.

When I was in the Police Force I had to take an illegal immigrant from Newhaven to Heathrow. After placing him on his flight home a Met officer asked me if I had seen Concord take off. I hadn't so he took me airside in one of the Met cars and we parked about 200yrds behind Concord and about 80yrds to the left.
When it fired up to take off the whole of the vehicle was vibrating and the air pressure felt like the windscreen was about to pop inside the car. The noise was fantastic and to see this aircraft launch like a missile was a sight to see. I only wish I had flown in it.
Looking back now I'm sure we were to close but at the time it seemed the thing to do.

I know exactly where I was and what I was doing when the last flights landed at LHR.

on 2 April 1997 we flew to New York for our 20th wedding anniversary.
If it were possible we'd be ding the same on 2 April 2017 for our 40th.

Where did the last 20 years go?

The Concord visualises the point, where craftsmanship turns into art...

There are only two other planes that gave me goosebumps:
Mustang and Spitfire.

I stood on the edge of the runway and suddenly realised, I was crying.

I filmed her maiden flight from Filton ,when my wife was pregnant with my first daughter, I flew in her to celebrate my 30th wedding anniversary, I filmed her last flight over Brunel,s Suspension bridge in Bristol, when my first daughter was pregnant with my first grandaughter. Happy days - she flies like a butterfly and stings like a bee. Like aJaguar she has Grace - Space and Pace by the bucketful

Still never beaten.
If anyone interested, you can get a really good lunch sitting under the wings of Concord at Manchester Airport viewing area - great place to go.

I have been in two - at Brooklands and Yeovilton.
Sadly, I will never be able to fly in one...

I now wished I hadn't traded in my return ticket back from NY for a 1st Class ticket and some cash.

I was on the last supersonic flight out of LBA. You are right Whirewheel , launch from a standstill was awesome and the angle of climb equally so.
It was a disgrace when BA pulled the plug.

I assume you mean that your wedding anniversary flight was before the final flight, as this was in October 2003.
We were at Heathrow departing to the Seychelles for our 25th anniversary on 24th October . Our flight was announced as being delayed , which was greeted by an enormous cheer, (never heard that before or since!) as everyone rushed across the concourse to the other end to see the 3 Concordes landing. Spectacular and memorable sight.
