Some of the best drives in the Mog are in winter, roof down, heater on full blast, and warm trousers, jacket and gloves - oh, and faux fur trapper hat! Particularly enjoyable at night. I've never sorn'd any of my Caterhams or Morgans either. They may not get used quite so much because of salt on the roads, but they certainly get used when rain has washed salt away.  Agree, and a bit of warm water soon gets the salt off. However, my preference for headwear is a woolly bobble hat.

We are in Cheshire, near the salt mines so the local councils seem to delight in spreading as much white stuff as possible on our roads. The weather seems to have no bearing on when and how much, so my car is currently off road much to my regret!
But this is allowing me time to work on the rebuild of my 3 wheeler, currently I'm trying to get my head round 1934 car electrics!

We are in Cheshire, near the salt mines so the local councils seem to delight in spreading as much white stuff as possible on our roads. The weather seems to have no bearing on when and how much, so my car is currently off road much to my regret!
But this is allowing me time to work on the rebuild of my 3 wheeler, currently I'm trying to get my head round 1934 car electrics!
Worthers +8 All these comments about not driving in Winter gets me slightly concerned as my car will be ready in a week.Dont think I can wait until Spring ! Wondering best way to look after ,when driven.Williams think it's a non issue .Dont know whether gentle spray underneath or around post use with hose ?Think there have been a few posts on this issue to research

Winter driving & salt is all about preparation & effort.
Spray around anything you can see 'bare' (probably engine bay area mostly, and steering arm ends/inner) with any of the proprietary products such as WD-40, ACF-50 etc etc.
Whey get home from a really salty trip, use a hose sprinkler all over & pointing upwards underneath. Blow dry or wipe, and put car away in a (ideally) heated and draughty or ventilated storage area.
It's not going to fall apart or melt, but you'll be wanting to cherish it I'm sure..!
It's not rocket science, just elbow grease and some prep.
There will be more better days than bad over winter, so just drive as it suits.

EG dinotrol, or similar,just hose down after salt an forget. Mine is 38 years old, never restored and has not melted yet.

I use mine all year round. Wintertime just needs a bit of tlc to wash salt/grime off, protective spray as SBM says, warm clothing...... Nothing better than a drive on a good day in winter. I need to drive to golf too as I play in winter not just summer.  uses the tintop meaning I have to use the Mog  There are not many days when the roads are really bad with salt/ice etc. I will be out later on a couple of errands too. Pre winter I wash and rewax the car, top up underneath with dinitrol, wipe acf on some exposed areas. It is a well protected car with galv chassis, underseal,stainless parts. With not so many organised days out in winter there is plenty of garage time available for planned jobs too. OK, mine is a standard car with no special provenance, if it was an "important" car then I would think twice and definitely get a runabout for winter use.

Took the series 2 to the bunker event so kindly organised today. Then onto Brighton and home via Portsmouth. All with the top down.
Washed and put back to bed.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Just drive it.
They are cars, my Aero is out as often as possible and it hasn't melted yet
One day you won't be here to get it out of hibernation!
