John Glenn was one of those heroes who pushed the limits with skill and daring.
As a youngster he and all the astronauts and cosmonauts were my heroes.
I watched all the missions on tv.
The first moon landing on b/w in the early hours, Apollo 13 being brought back safely.
All with basic, primitive even, tech.
He was a true pioneer and even went back to space on a shuttle aged 77!
