My rev limiter came off on the second ride. But i did hit it pulling out of the dealer....
I drove it 4 times and have 350 miles on it.

The factory run is very short - 2-5 miles in my experience.
The rev limiter is usually set for 2 hours only!
Not 20 !!

It's all on page #11 of the 2016 manual.
" During the running in period the ECU will automatically limit engine RPM in two stages during the first 20 hours of engine operation. During the first two hours the rev limiter is 4250 RPM. From two hours to 20 hours of engine operation the rev limiter is 5125 RPM. After 20 hours the rev limit is 5800 RPM. "

" The factory running during the build and their 23 mile test drive takes it past the 2 hr / 4,250 limit so it should be at 5,125 on delivery. After 20 hours it goes up to 5,800 which won't make too much difference on the standard exhaust but with stage 1 it will start to fly

Maybe they reset it? My limiter seemed to be at 4,125 for a few hours.

My car had 2 miles on the clock at delivery, then i hopped in with tje delaer mechanic and we brought that up to 7

Sounds as if the post built test drive has been considerably shortened. Perhaps they are getting the hang of building the M3Ws
