Just Getting Started
|
very sad day
today we had to put our dearly beloved cat Tommy to sleep. He was 11 years old and lively. 8 days ago he stopped eating and the vet diagnosed a renal failure. There was no chance to make him eat again so this morning we decided to release him from pain.
He was a wonderful, special cat and he choose us 10 years ago - one day he was in our garden and choose us as his tin-openers and best friends.
Nobody can imagine how painful this is and many tears my wife and I have shed today.
So I wanted to show You this pics from my best buddy.
Tommy - rest in peace

Gerhard, Tommy will be glad you and your wife were his guardians. You have done the best for him. He looks a lovely cat.

They say daft things to you 'cos they just don't get it.

What great times you must have had with Tommy he is a handsome boy, so sorry to hear of your loss.
We lost a Free Range pet rabbit after 9 years of sharing his life with us and the void they leave is just so painful, George is still in the garden we thought it the only place for him.

Gerhard's picture is lovely , one very stunning special cat and I can imagine you're heartbreak at this , I've been through some very tough similar situations with my dogs , the only thing to do is to get another nice cat as soon as you can.

Gerhard, I'm so sorry: I can totally understand your grief.
In our 40 years together we have twice had to let our Siamese cats go: the first in 1996 and the second in 2013, both were a good age and even though they have had a great life and given so much love and affection...it hurts.
But now we have 2 wonderful 3 year old Siamese...a house without a cat just isn't a home...in our opinion.

It's always sad to read things like this. Pets bring so much positivity to our lives, and the companionship and individuality of their personalities bond themselves into your heart.
You should take comfort in knowing you helped to make his life so special.

Thank You for all your consolatory answers. Tommy has his last rest in our garden on his favorite place - under rose bushes where he used to sleep during summer.

A very sad time for you, Tommy was obviously a much-loved cat. They are a very important part of our lives, aren't they?
