Would you have recommendations for a few Morgan books for a new vintage Morgan owner? I would like to find a good and thorough Morgan history, and some period reviews/ road tests, too.

Thank you. Jeff

Hello Jeff,

Start with one of the originals (and best in my opinion);

Morgan - First and Last of The Real Sports Cars
Gregory Houston Bowden
Published 1972, 1973, 1986.
Foulis/Haynes
ISBN 0 85429 443 0

Also worth a look;
The Four-Wheeled Morgan
Ken Hill
Motor Racing Publications

Vol 1 - The Flat-Radiator Models
1977 ISBN 0 900549 31 9

Vol 2 - The Cowled-Radiator Models
1980 ISBN 0 900549 54 8

Have Fun !

Jeff,
Some good ideas there from Andy. May I add my selection for your perusal:-

Morgans to 1997
ISBN 1-899870-78-4

Morgan 1991-2009
ISBN 9781855208414. This is a good one for road tests.

Morgan 100 years
ISBN 978-1-84317-891-0

Making a Morgan
ISBN 978-1-845848-73-6 More of a "coffee table" book but a great read.

I hope you enjoy both your car and looking for your choice of books.

I don't think all of these books fulfill your criteria but I certainly have enjoyed these (and looking at the pictures of course as I'm a simpleton)

The thin blue book is the 'Encyclopaedia of Morgan Minature Models' by Michel Coumes

Whilst only having one page on Morgan's exploits; "The British at Le Mans" by Ian Wagstaff, is a cracking read.

If I had to go for one it would be 'Morgan, Malvern and Motoring' by Martiyn Webb, the MMC archivist.
