Reg , the wife went out in the Rav4 and luckily she got back as we are in the sticks here and its fairly heavy snow but ok'iosh on the A143 !

When I was about 21 I rode from Canberra to Talbingo, a distance of 250km,in light falling snow. I was on a Ducati 250 Mk3 with clipons and a fairing. It was settling on the fields but not on the road thank goodness. Then after I had checked in I decided, just for the heck of it, to ride to the top of the mountain. In those days the road was sealed up the mountain but as soon as it got to the plateau at the top it was a graded dirt road, I found somewhere close to 30cm of snow. I rode on, probably in first, with surprisingly little difficulty for about a kilometre then turn back to seek something warming to drink. Mine was the only wheel track that day. What was then a graded dirt road is now the Snowy Mountains Highway.
