Could you get the DVLA to change the tax band for 06/07 roadsters so they pay the cheaper bracket like the earlier cars as I presume emissions are the same?? Just a quirk of the tax system..

No you can't it's CO2 emissions 231.8g/km in 2007 did factory publish a smaller figure for the earlier cars, hence the lower band?

In 2004/5 it was different measures vs bands. I think the S1 engine has the highest emissions.

The tax on my 2005 Roadster is £290. That sounds quite good John. The tax on my 2001 1800 4/4 is £265, 196g/km. It must be a really stinky engine for the time, despite the engine management - maybe that's the problem? I am intending to have the ECU modified at sometime, but I am not sure what effect that will have on actual g/km.

Well I have learned something! I was sure the 3.0 litre roadster had a Jaguar S type V6 engine until now. Where did the 3.0 litre come from?
2015 Morgan 4/4 (Wolf fettled) previously 2014 M3W MINI Cooper S and numerous BMC/BL relics.

The Duratec V6 is also in the X type and S type Jaguar. Owned by Ford at that time............ It seems that Porsche design was involved at the start. Transverse in one and longitudinal in the other I believe. http://www.motor-car.co.uk/ford-engines/item/13809-ford-duratec-v6-versions

My 2009 Roadster has the lower rate. Compensation for the lack of a "Jaguar" badge on the engine 😈😉 Never was a Jaguar engine....Not S1, not S2, not never ever.... Simon @ SiFab.co.uk I know......hence the "....."
