The nice chappies from Newtown Motors called yesterday to drop of my new toy.
First thing to go will be the rear view mirrors.
Spent an hour trying to adjust the offside door mirror to reverse out of my garage frown and the one on the screen is just tat.

Looks like a small Librands rear view mirror which are a great improvement on the factory supplied Black plastic one .
The off side mirror is at a very strange angle and is usually better nearer to the the wind screen ./ door ,it's usually the near side one that causes the problem .
Librands / Heart of England supply much better round mirrors .
Hope you enjoy the new toy ...looks great in two tone .

Re the drivers side mirror. Definitely move it inboard towards the door. It should just pull up and you will feel it jump" to the next position. There is a spring mechanism inside the door mount with discrete preset positions. No need to unscrew anything. However.....take care with the grubscrew that fixes the mirror stalk in the base. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN IT!!! The thread in the base could be stripped.

The mirror position in the pic is just were I put it to get out the garage, I spoke to John Taylor at Phoenix Design,
He is sending me some details to order the mirrors recommended in an older thread on TM.

I'm a 6 footer and this is the positioning for the mirror. The passenger side is 2 clicks down away from the screen compared to the drivers side which is about 1cm away from the side screen Perspex..

Do excuse the tat standard mirrors grin2 .

Richard (Devon),

I had the standard mirrors, but changed them late last year to the John Taylor versions - they are excellent.
I could not see out of the nearside mirror no matter what I tried.
John Taylor's version allows the mirror to fully rotate, and they are convex so the view is even better..
A sound purchase.

Can you see well out of your nearside mirror?

A great looking MOG Ian!

Glenn,

It took a while to find the right position but I get a good view from them both.
