I'll check the drive belt's tension. I did loosen it slightly over the factory setting....but the sound is new after quite a number of miles since the retensioning.

I do have a GoPro and have used it to post a drive in the M3W and used it diagnostically on my airplane to confirm what the main gear doors were doing when they were supposed to be closed. It's a possibility, but I'm not expecting enough movement to see anything.

As I said, I can grab the roll bars and rock the M3W--no sound. Just when I take my foot off the accelerator and the weight shifts forward. Drive belt seems like a possibility.

you do seem pretty damn clued up on the machines, have you owned one before?

LMAO

I thought you would spot this!!

Oh I knew he would. If I can do my part to make a troll happy in his twilight years, well who am I to begrudge him as much. <3

Possibly a squeek from the accelerator pedal?
I had an irritating squeek on my Plus8 organ pedal setup, cured with lubricant.
Different setup to yours but worth a check.

it certainly sounds like an on and off load problem, drive belts or as sospan states have a look at the pedals, or get someone to rev it while you can look at front end and try to hone in a bit then work down the car listening, but if only happening when driving it does sound like belt/drive set up or loose mounts somewhere

The drive belt is the usual culprit. If you can stick your phone down there and take a picture of the sprocket that isn't covered by the belt then do it. If it is worn and shiny and there is black dust everywhere then you have found the problem. Once the belt blows by the hard anodized surface then it hits the softer aluminum and eats it like butter.

If it still looks OK then adjust the tension. I have found that all it takes is hitting a pothole at speed to mess it up.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Possible candidate for the Supermax sprocket modification?

Thanks. I don't think it's the pedal.
- When the engine is off, you can move the pedal - no sound.
- The sound seems to come from in front or underneath.

When we can get some dry weather around here, will investigate further.

Mine barks squeaks, and shudders. I know my dealer adjusted the centering of my rear wheel and my belt tension. I should check mine against what people are doing here.

Check the rubber at the front of the bonnet by the cowel where it touches the front of the body, if it's missing it will squeak like this, check the cap screws under the bonnet that secure the body, again these can model slightly loose and allow the body to move. Try fdriving it with the bonnet off, you might get a clue. Had all the above, all quiet now
