Has anyone else seen this Aeromax [#38] for sale?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1610863.htm

"£10k or less" for parts? They are having a laugh.

I wonder how many are have been written off so far?

At least they would good enough to give the current registration = AM59RLF and the VIN = SA9AEROMAX48A0038

Am I alone in my dislike of people who sell on damaged cars and use the phrase "BIG PROFIT !!!! DAMAGED NOT RECORDED !"?

It certainly seems underhanded to me that they are suggesting the car can be repaired and no one will be the wiser to it being damaged. The front and the rear are pranged and not inconsiderably.

I think it's the same one being discussed here http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/21747/6

greymog says that "Just a quick note to warn all Dealers that Aero max chassis number A0038 is a category B write-off, therefore no parts will be supplied for this vehicle."

It is one and the same; however, I'm going to leave Trevor's thread regarding Morgan AeroMax #38 as I believe the full history of the car should be disclosed to any unsuspecting buyer. With that said, 2 threads are better than one.

If anyone can verify whether the car has actually been classed as CAT A or B, I will also add it to the list of Aero 8s and Aeromaxs that we keep on the site.

The dealers text states the registration as AM59 RLF. In the photos the front plate has a GB on it.

I had not realised the Mog had been mentioned before. My apologies but I did think people should be made aware of it.

Good idea. Makes me a bit sad that someone might buy this car not knowing it's history and then not be able to get parts for it frown

I see that our favorite Max is no longer for sale by bids on E-Bay. smile

There has been plenty of discussion about this on MogTalk, one questions the legal right of MMC to not sell a new chassis. Apparently in France it is illegal to refuse to sell something like this.

Steve, are you saying that the customer has asked MMC to supply them a new chassis and that the company refused?

Or is the case that Morgan will not repair the car because it requires a new chassis?

I think it's somewhere on the 'other' thread on this car: http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/21747/6

Yeah from GreyMog, in Germany:

We shall in future endeavor to keep you informed of any vehicles that are written-off as and when they occur."
