Well my order finally went through today. I effect it was on hold because of the change to MY2018 production. The big surprise was that BRG has been discontinued and I had to re-think colours. Alis is not so happy but I have decided on the new Firenze Red and a slight change in the wheel design.

Why on earth the powers that be decided to discontinue the green I can not imagine. Alis favoured the Loire Blue but it is a very dark metallic blue that when not in direct sunlight is dead, almost a black.

I also played with the idea of specifying the new 250hp petrol engine (there is a choice of the 180hp and new 240hp diesel, or the 250hp petrol on the AWD models) but the extra cost of tax, €200 a year), extra insurance and higher fuel consumption persuaded me to stay with the 180hp diesel.

So in the end the car will be a Jaguar SE R-Sport AWD Automatic in Firenze red with some little touches of chrome trim, black leather upholstery, oyster hoodlining (I thought the black hood lining makes it too dark inside), and a few little extras. The MY2018 model also comes with a few little improvements over the previous model including a clever electronic noise cancelling system.

I love the colour, hope Alis is happier when she sees it in the metal.

In the UK, you occasionally see Ferraris in this type of dark metallic red (rather than Corsa or Scuderia) and they always look amazing.

Nice one.

It looks almost an Aeroman colour.

Peter, first congrats on your car! Is it right you pay higher tax for a petrol engine of same cubic capacitiy?
