My last 4/4 was just known by it's 3 letters of the reg: RTA.
The present one was named Buttercup by a volunteer at Claymills, but it's not a name I use. As above, it is just "the Morgan". RTA thought that was road accident. 
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.

‘Archie’, which comes from  mishearing me when I referred to it as ‘Algy’, after the Biggles books. It is only me that uses 'Archie'; continues to call it 'the Morgan'. So frustrating...(not)...

We call it "The Major" as one off the previous owners was a Major in the 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards plus the fact that the Major in "Keeping up appearences" drives a Morgan in one off the episodes.

Marilyn, as in Monroe - great curves and plenty of va va voom. refers to it as "your baby"

I call them the "red one" or the "green one" - related to the number of wheels they have

I call mine
'Macropterous Obambutatas Geromorph'
which loosely means in Latin
'thing which has large wings, drives around and looks older than it is'
or MOG for short!
