In the shower this m/ing and thought of you . NO I AM NOT . I forgot to turn it down and got the very hot in fact very hot water on me . Which brought to mind my bulkhead gets stonkingly hot on a long run since changed you can fry chips on it . Its the heat from the heater being so close .

You need a closed cell foam for the seal otherwise you will get hot engine air coming in instead of fresh outside air. Not a problem in winter but in summer sunny

On my car there is a rubber seal blocking off the air intake area. It fills the gap up to the bonnet. The seal fits onto metal fittings similar to push on door/boot seals on tintops.
