I worked with a big pigeon fancier for several years Easter. He was from Barnsley...................
Whippets are not so prevalent, but I do work with someone who has a rescue greyhound, and a couple of lurchers at the last count. I'm not a dog fancier. The closest I got was a rabbit skin round the gearstick in my first Midget. It seemed so normal at the time.

I prefer my pigeons lightly grilled with a side salad. laugh2

It did raise a comment or two from the ladies, but I bought it like that your honour. It covered a hole in the gearstick gaiter.
It was a silky smooth pelt, and very nice to stroke. smirk2

I'll see if I can dig out a photo....... some time.

I think that a "Deerstalker " is just about right for you.

My elder brother used to wear one in his MG TC when I was a boy.

Great for chilly mornings and evenings before the sun sets.
In the summer I use a wide brimmed hat with a steel wire rim and a chin strap.
It cant blow up or backwards.
In the winter when the sun is weaker and my ears are not so prone to getting burnt and subsequent skin cancer( burning off with liquid nitrogen is very painful) I just use a baseball cap, very firmly adjusted and pulled down hard. sherlock

If you are doing nothing, how do you know when you are finished?

I have a Lowe Alpine mountain cap - GoreTex and fleece, with a baseball peak and earflaps. Great in cold weather, earflaps reduce buffeting, peak acts as sunvisor. Stays on at 80mph with the top open. Doesn't look too naff. Earflaps turned up in warmer weather - in hot weather, Musto sailing (baseball-ish) cap instead.

Being follicularly challenged, I too wish to avoid skin cancers.

Just waiting on a late flight home from Denver and was VERY tempted with a Bandana from the Duty Free Harley Davidson shop in the airport. Would I get in to the Buxton MMX with it I wonder!

Not sure that the cowboy hat would be practical but ticks all the boxes for coverage...
