Yippee,

Ferrari are back!!! I approached the start of the new season with some doubt about the changes to the cars and the difference they would make to the races.
No worries (well it was in Aus) Ferrari were great, Seb is happy and all is well in the world.

But it's still boring to watch, I'm afraid..

And who did the crowd boo on the podium interview..?

Not much has changed for me.

I still fell asleep half way through.

Ditto. Listening to Hamilton whining about not being able to overtake Verstappen just about sums F1 up in its current format. In spite of the grand claims that the cars would be 4 to 5 seconds faster than last year, the fastest lap time I heard before falling asleep was 2 seconds slower than the fastest lap last year. Get rid of the aero, get rid of the pit to car communication, get rid of tyre changes and let the drivers race. Until such times as they do, I won't even bother turning it on.

I have to agree, it ought to be something I'd enjoy but I just can't watch it, haven't for a few seasons. The drivers are as characterless as the cars.

I must be watching in a parallel universe. Enjoyed it. Saw a brilliant drive from Seb Vettel, did not see nor hear any whining from the talented Lewis H and the Five Live commentators never once mentioned any whining, so it's not just me missing something. The new rules have brought speed and the cars look better but yes there is going to be an issue with passing. I guess we can't have it all but guide me to another modern form of (4 wheeled) motorsport that can compare and I will burn my F1 T Shirt and turn my back on the only true contest that sorts the drivers from the wannabes. Is that how one spells wanna-bee? Come on, stop whining, start enjoying!!

Unimpressed too. True that Ferrari is a lot closer to Mercedes than last season (and that can only be good to any fan of F1, regardless of team preference). But again the Vettel - Hamilton fight wasn't made on track. The overtake (sorry, the "undercut") happened in the pits and was due to pit strategy, not driver prowess.

Pretty boring and the lap times 2 sec adrift on last year.

Ferrari pit strategy still good - they deserved the win.

The only one with the nerve to overtake seemed to be Ocon, that was a great move.

The cars still sound like a strangled cat.

Thers an easy answer. Throw the rear wing in the bin. Then the drivers can become drivers.
