That's no vanity Peter its investment you just pay for the plate never needs anything like a spare part tax or insurance and just sits there till you wish to sell one . My old mate had a load on his classic cars reached a certain age and sold them one by one and his classics . Made a few bob .

A boring explanation for mine - AP08 MOG - my initials, the year I bought my first Morgan and , of course, MOG. It confuses people now as I've transferred the plate to my new 2016 Plus 4, so it looks older than it really is.

My local vicar called in a few year ago to borrow my car wax to polish the gold plates etc in the church . I have R5VND on my Mog as I am a person of the cloth.....or as my wife says, a man of the dishcloths.

I have HUN 70 on my 4/4. I found it on a 1952 Austin Devon in a farmers field. In those days the local Bobby had to inspect the car to confirm it still existed, paid the council £5 to transfer it and the farmer wanted nothing.
I was called the HUN when I wore a flying helmet, a genuine WW11 Spitfire pilot's and goggles. I loaned it to someone for a fancy dress do and never got it back.
Also I remember someone in the local League Against Cruel Sports tried to buy it at one time - HUNT NOTHING !

FND 471F.. Squint a lot and it reads FND 471F Squint a lot more until your eyes close and it reads AH3000
