Remarkably little visible damage not even the screens broken. The soft ground was fortuitous. What caused the skid initially?

. What caused the skid initially? according the newspaper there was some oil on the road. Checking google maps the accident must have happened only 200m close to the next (and only) Morgan garage in the country.
