Would not be without sun visors. We did not have them on our first Morgan and they were a last minute decision on this one after a low sun drive to take the old car to Allon White on trade in. Now a full convert.

Essential, but so are a peaked cap and sunglasses...
as has been said, the sun visor can be swung up, as well as down.

I think sun visors are more effective as wind deflectors
Only useful as sun visors with the hood up which seems a bit pointless as if it's bright and sunny, the hood's down

Just my opinion having driven two Mogs with visors

To a degree I agree but when the sun is really low they are invaluable. By turning them up they cover the sun when it is just above the windscreen and turning them down covers when the sun is just below the top of the windscreen.

I also use a cap or hat and wear Rayban sunglasses with polarised lenses to reduce glare and the reflections off the windscreen. See photo below smile

Sunglasses and a peaked cap for me. Never felt the need for sun visors.

They do also work as giving a bit more rain deflection as well when used as wind deflectors

Saved me from getting wet tootling along in light rain when I hired a 4 Seater from the factory with sun visors

Really they don't cost much and once mounted can be used or not according to personal preferences. If the OP then decides he doesn't like them he can always remove them and sell them on TM.
