My Plus 4 was one of the cars that had the problem with cracking along the joint between the wing and headlight cowl. It was the joint that cracked and not the aluminium.
From the photograph this looks more like either a fatigue crack or an impact crack. I think I would investigate if this is in the metal or is just the paint before I drilled any holes. This does look like a different issue. Hope it's sorted soon

You could consider, although some what retrospective, fitting as i have, a rubber mount between the hefty front wing stay and the wing. I used what halfords call a mini exhaust mount, its a 1" rubber bobbin, it may absorb some of the vibration induced stress.

Hi Lowflyer You could consider, although some what retrospective, fitting as i have, a rubber mount between the hefty front wing stay and the wing. I used what halfords call a mini exhaust mount, its a 1" rubber bobbin, it may absorb some of the vibration induced stress. Have removed the wing stay and wondered why there is no shock absorption, except a thin rubber? Started rubbing down with 240grit thinking I would hit aluminium quickly but no, had to gouge out 2.5mm of filler but luckily no crack in the superform, see photo Can anybody recommend a good 2 pot filler for this type of repair? Good news that it's an easy fix but unusual to have so much filler on a superform wing.

Thats a mountain of filler - must be a reason to have used that much?
