Glad we made it home as the last 200 km i couldn't engage 2 and 4 anymore without grinding noise . So we drove in 1,3,5. +4 from '89 , Rover M16 engine, i suppose a LT77 gearbox ? Perhaps something in the shift mechanism as 2 and 4 is pulling the stick ,so pushing on the rod to the box ??? ( reverse stayed OK , also a forward move of the stick as 1,3 and 5 )

I bet it is not your box but the rubber mounting grommets on your extended remote. They have perished and when you pull the lever back for 2nd and 4th the bottom of your remote crashes with the prop shaft. Had this on my car. Talk to Keith at BHM and they will sell you replacement polyuthrethane grommets for about £40 if I remember correctly.

Fully agree. Check also GoMog on this. It is a common issue.

Had to visit daughter in law in Saffron Walden this w/e and was passed on the A14 east bound by a cream 4 seater about 4 O'Clock Sunday afternoon. Gave thumbs up out of window. Anyone on here?

Coming back from France today, I got on to the M4 at the A34 junction around 15:30 just as the heavens opened in a colossal rainstorm. By the time I'd got as far as Membury services I was completely soaked anyway, so no point in stopping to put the roof up.

All good fun!

Just got home from Wicked Welsh Weekend in Llandrindod Wells.
Weather was good( very light drizzle Sat pm.
The weather reports were scrutinised and we headed away from the forecast rain each day. Group of 4 Mogs actually finding new roads in areas well travelled.
The Metropole did us proud yet again. The owner has even bought a Morgan, obviously impressed by our annual event.
A group of Harley owners were also there.
Yesterday included the Elan Valley....great in any weather actually, after visiting Aberaeron.
Today's home run included the Abergwesyn road and the Devil's Staircase to the Cliff Hotel in Gwbert near Cardigan. A really good hotel recently refurbished with stunning views over the bay. Nice carvery there too.
So, we covered mid Wales, Shropshire, West Wales. No North Wales due to weather.

A momentous weekend, this. After a much longer than usual over-wintering, I finally found a little bit of time to give the car its annual Springtime spanner check and general pampering.

Most importantly, we were able to establish that my 10-year-old daughter feels comfortable and secure enough to enjoy it! Some TMers may recall from another thread that she was badly injured when she was knocked off her bicycle by a school bus late last year. She's making great progress learning to deal with paraplegia, and we are all happy that she can be manoeuvred in and out of the front passenger seat without too much contortionism; what's more, her wheelchair seems equally happy to be strapped to the luggage rack. That leaves room for her brothers in the back seat, and older boy even seems quite sanguine about being relegated to the aft cabin if it means his sister can come too. All of which means we can give SWMBO (not a car enthusiast) some peace and quiet at home as we can all bugger off for days out through the summer.

Doug,
That sounds like a very positive result after all the problems. Hope you all get to enjoy many more Morganeering miles! thumbs

That is really heartwarming news Doug, so pleased she can get in the Morgan with you and her brothers and get back some sense of normality.

What a long haul you have all had, she must be a plucky young lady thumbs.
