Hi
Fitted new compressor, Condenser, drier and fan controller under dashboard. Problem now getting the compressor clutch to operate. There is no wiring diagram available for Mk1 Aero. We now suspect the control box above the condenser but the Factory do not have any and are unable to get any manufactured at present.Any advice appreciated. Message me if I can help with what I have done?

Sorry, have nothing in my notes on the aircon.
Let us know if you have any success with the control box. somewhere down the line we will all need one.
Was it yourself that had a new power steering pump fitted by a local garage into your S1. I was keen to know what parts they fitted, where you got them and how did they solve the wiring.

Telephoned nearly every Dealer this morning in case any one had one in stock, no luck. Morgan have been trying to source someone to manufacture new ones for over 12 months.
For the power steering I bought a used pump, cradle and both electrical connectors off a mini. I had the pump reconditioned, they were fitted using new hoses and making a heat shield between the pump and exhaust. The only difference is the whine from the pump which takes getting used to.

The later model pump (which I believe to be a direct replacement) is silent

The factory no longer supply the pump, cradle or the wiring loom. My local Mini dealer only supplied reconditioned pumps at approximately £600. You can hear a whine from it running on the Mini.

t50 many thanks for the detail on the S1 power steering pump, was it a straight forward job or were there problems with the fitting.
Disappointing to hear that nothing available on the air con control box, on the upside it is hopefully not something to keep you off the road.

Maybe its worth looking for any crashed Aeros, I am assuming they are mostly the same through S1-3 ? Given a crash is highly likely to result in a write off on anything S1-3 due to cost of repairs of the Alloy chassis.
Just an idea to give you a second line of research ?

Still busy trying to sort out air con at moment. Garage have the floor out and have found some faulty connections under the steering column.
When I get time I have a full set of photos showing the steering pump installation I can let you have.My local mechanic did my conversation but if you are mechanicaly minded and have the time you could do it yourself. If you get a second hand pump reconditioned you need the two electrical connectors and the hydraulic fitting from the old one.(someone scrapping Mini's)
