Okay its that time of year and road trip planned.
Has anyone whose got a series 5 manage to work out how to maximise the space in the boots.
Last year I got every bag we owned in the garage to work out what we could fit, but still ended up with Tesco bags to fill some of the spaces. Has anyone come up with a better solution.
Before you lot start no I'm not interested in fitting a trailer, roof rack or buying a car with a proper boot, and yes I did read a book on origami
Cheers
John

I have not seen the S5 boot shape however the Coupe had a surprisingly practical shape but with the awkward opening. I used 5 bags and stood them in different ways. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lifewit-Oversiz...Holdall+Weekend5 of these and some smaller bags (camera, snacks, handbag etc)
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

As Alistair says the boot of the SS/Coupe was very good - apart from 2 annoying factors - the rise in the middle of the floor and the leather panels never staying stuck on.
We travelled a number of times and found a combination of soft bags worked just as well as a single large suitcase.

The boot is spacious but the shape and the way the boot closes makes finding bags that optimise the space difficult. You cant place bags over the box section on the floor as (marked blue) as the boot hinge (marked yellow) closes onto them. If you use carry on luggage it leaves a lot of useless space, and the space is too small for any other cases. The space at the base of boot can hold a couple of bags, but you end up with 20-30% stacked out with small bags and then lots to carry.

With the most recent advice that Hillsalive were continuing to trade I inquired back in April if they were planning on producing Series 5 luggage. I never got a response to that but have again asked the question today. Can I also ask you about the 'box sections' outlined in blue. Do you mean these are painted metal box sections as opposed to lacquered square section wooden 'runners' to match interior wood?

In my car they are literally two pieces of painted ali book section. A couple of pieces of wood would have been nicer. I've made contact with a luggage manufacturer and sent then over some pictures and sketches, I'll let you know how this progresses.
