Here's a picture of what you're looking at if it helps. This is a Mk 2 Capri but I'm pretty sure it's the same.

Not sure the Capri Mk2 box is the same, the clutch lever on my 1969 4/4 is more of a Y shape.

Also that set up is for a cable clutch (judging by the through hole on the end of the lever) not a hydraulic clutch.

On both My +8 Bitsa and DHC with Zetec/T-9, I used a internal hydraulic clutch slave. Seems to work OK with no problems with the unit. Not sure it is cost effective. I used this system to make it easy to design a clutch system.

Thanks but it's definitely not that one. There is no hole in the end that protrudes from the housing, just a socket that the pushrod from the slave cylinder sits in. I'm pretty sure the end that I can't see, in the bell housing, is a Y. I'll talk to Burton about it in the morning.

Suddenly rememberd, had 68 4/4 all parts were mk2 cortina 1600, slightly diffrent from the later mexico parts, Found this out when my starter ring came off the flywheel. Be carefull when ordering new parts.

That's a good tip Ray. I want to order the parts that I think I will need, ahead of the motor coming out. This is so that the tiny workshop that my mechanic works from isn't occupied for days by an engineless morgan waiting for parts. I think the only way to clarify is to talk to Burtons or Ford and describe what I have.

No worries, could you try and remember to photograph it when you strip it down? I wish I'd taken pictures of mine now.

I've taken a series of photographs showing the clutch arms, pivots etc from a spare 2000E gearbox (as fitted to my 1969 4/4) It has a hydraulically operated clutch.

As I'm not sure how to post photos, if anybody would like copies, can you pm me your email address and I'll send you a set
