Ray, with the hood up I lean into the passenger seat, get the legs out (right then left) & sort of reverse crawl out using my hands to support on the seat. Not pretty but it works.

This is an interesting thread. Mrs W still has major orthopaedic (and other Parkinsons) related problems to allow getting in and out of the M3W (Thumper). So I was thinking about possibly changing to a 4/4 four seater with room to take a wheelchair. However, I was fortunate to try a 4/4 at the factory tour (Bill's 1972 car) and, if anything, I think it was less straight forward than Thumper. There is an awful lot of knee twisting and leg turning to get round the scuttle, sill and dash on the passenger side.
So we stay as we are. I may fit a luggage rack to Thumper to take the elbow crutches as they are not a good idea in the cockpit.

Tim Tim, try a later car, the doors are slightly bigger, and the seats go further back.
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.

I can certainly recommend the 4/4 4 seater 1999- 2004 model which has a long door, front seats that go back quite a way and can have a luggage rack perfect for a wheel chair When I have my youngest son with me we often have a wheelchair on the back rack

... sort of reverse crawl out using my hands to support on the seat. Not pretty but it works. A technique I used in RTA if the hood was up. As Greg Dixon Smith used to say, "there is NO elegant way to exit a Morgan with the hood up". I suppose I really should trial fit the hood to the present car...
