Wish you luck in your search, maybe go classic for a while? No gizmos to worry about, zero RFL and hopefully no depreciation.
Post 90 classics maybe - by that era they were reasonably reliable and reasonably painted. My days of lying under a rusty old car on axle stands are over - apart from anything else, it takes me ages to get back upright! .... Here we go again.... I'll give up all alcohol for a month if howard enters Morgandom . Its on record now. F430 to Mog plus 4 is a big jump , 400 bhp to 150 bhp !
The 430 is 500bhp but 1.5 tonnes. Howard won't buy a Morgan , so don't worry ! Yes you're right max, I wouldn't have been so rash if I thought there was a chance of it happening - camels and needles come to mind. I find my Plus8 so comfortable over long distances to Kent or Cambridge, but I have a feeling my idea of comfort and howard's are at variance.

You won't be able to do that if we're meeting up for an expedition such as the other year's trip to Loughborough Bell Foundry Don't worry Graham a sabbatical might be called for, I don't think we need to worry though . We shall have to think about another trip out in a while.

Pleased you enjoyed it Howard, I owned a Testarossa for nearly 2 years followed by a 355 Spyder for 18 months. I loved both, put 6k miles on the Testarossa and 14k on the 355. If I had either and I had just done 2-3k a year the 512 would have done around 50k miles and be worth around £180k, the 355 would have done around 60k and been worth probably about £120k. Based on average servicing costs for each being about £3k every 8k miles I would have spent around £20K plus 3 sets of tyres at £6k, then add on £10k for big bills, so being realistic overall cost would have been around say £50k, so if I sold today I would have made about £90k on the 512 and about £10k on the 355.
It's all relative and as you say leaving the car parked can be an issue, although in some respects it may be in the mind. I parked the 355 in a public car park in the centre of Milton Keynes for 6months when working there and no one touched it. I came back to it a few times to find people looking at it.

I thought you didn't drink? Whenever we meet up I'm driving so yes on those occasions, I'm partial to a good gargle on some fine real ales though as Graham will confirm.

I find my Plus 8 so comfortable over long distances to Kent or Cambridge, but I have a feeling my idea of comfort and howard's are at variance. The rational choice for howard would be an Aero-chassis Plus 8, much more comfort than a Trad and the same traditional looks. They are much rarer than most of the Aero 8 Series cars and thus residuals are strong and likely to rise, particularly with the anniversary of 50 years of the Plus 8 next year. However, as we all know howard's views on cars are pretty subjective and thus the buying process for his next car may well resemble Russian roulette! We await the final choice with interest... Maybe we should open a book on the possible make, anybody willing to fill in the odds? - Lotus (must be favourite?) - Morgan (Plus 4) 100/1 - Ginetta - Noble - BMW i8 - None of the above...

I would have 'none of the above' as favourite, with the Plus 4 at 100/1
